Pemuteran Bay Festival

Pemuteran Coastal Village is recognised as a model of effective community-based ecotourism as a mechanism for conservation. Once the reefs were in dramatic decline due to destructive fishing practices, now Pemuteran is renowned for having one of the best coral reef rehabilitation projects because of community support and participation.

Held every year since 2014, the festival celebrates the villages’ conservation efforts towards sustainability and preservation of their natural resources.

Aimed to promote Buleleng, Bali as a top spot for diving, the festivities include live music, dancing, marine-themed art parades and competitions, conservation dives and workshops and culinary bazaars – all in traditional Balinese fashion.
