PADI Freedive Course

INTRODUCTION COURSE

This course is designed to give you a taste of freediving in order you can decide to continue to take further education or not. Depends on the location, this course could also include an open water session.

COURSE DURATION
0.5 day

WHO SHOULD JOIN
those who want to try freediving but not sure wether they are going to like it or not
people who want to learn freediving but don’t have enough time to do the full course

COURSE SCHEDULE
theory session – explanation on the physiology of freediving, what happens in our body when we hold our breath, how to safely improve our breath hold capability.
confined water session – static apnea (holding our breath, face down in the water)
confined water session/open water session – duck diving and depending on the location we will do dynamic apnea (swimming horizontally in the swimming pool) or free immersion in the open water.

BEGINNER COURSE

This course teaches you the fundamentals of freediving, you will get the comprehensive technique to freedive in a safe way, the foundation in your freediving journey. More than just your technique, you will also learn how to buddy other freedivers and to conduct rescue in terms of emergency.

COURSE DURATION
AIDA: 2.5 days; PADI & Apnea International: 2 days

WHO SHOULD JOIN
those who never had formal education in freediving before
total beginners who already sure that they want to learn freediving

COURSE SCHEDULE
day 1
theory session – physiology behind breath holding, relaxation exercises
confined water session 1 – relaxation exercises, static apnea, static buddying and static rescue exercise
open water session 1 – free immersion to practice relaxation and equalization; duck diving
day 2
confined water session 2 – dynamic apnea, focusing on proper body position, and finning technique
open water session 2 – constant weight, rescue exercise, buddying
written exam
day 3
open water session 3 (only for AIDA courses) – constant weight, buddying. This session will focus on fine tuning all the techniques

CERTIFICATION
AIDA 2 Freediver or PADI Freediver or Apnea International Level 1

ADVANCE COURSE

This course is aimed for beginner who would like to train to increase their freediving ability. This course will prepare students for deeper dives and to design their own training.

COURSE DURATION
AIDA: 3 days; PADI & Apnea International: 2.5 days

WHO SHOULD JOIN
those who enjoys freediving and want to take their freediving to another level
people who want to increase their freediving ability

COURSE SCHEDULE
day 1
theory session – physiology part 1, Mammalian Dive Response, warm up, training table
open water session 1 – neutral bouyancy, hands only ascend, CWT technique
confined water session 1 – CO2 tables, rescue during DYN
day 2
theory session – physiology part 2, dynamics of the dive
confined water session 2 – warm up before max attempt during static and dynamic
open water session 2 – constant weight focusing on dynamics of the dive, rescue exercise, buddying​
day 3
open water session 3 – constant weight, free fall training, buddying
written exam
open water session 4 (only for AIDA courses) – constant weight, free fall training, buddying
